Job Title: Senior Java Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team at Publicis Sapient. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing high-end technology solutions that solve complex problems across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality Java microservices using Java JDK 1.8 or above
  • Develop strong development skills in Java fundamentals, including exception handling, serialization/deserialization, and immutability concepts
  • Have good fundamental knowledge in enums, collections, annotations, generics, auto-boxing, and data structures
  • Work with databases, including RDBMS and NoSQL, with a strong understanding of SQL, joins, and indexing
  • Develop multithreading skills, including re-entrant locks, fork and join, sync, and executor framework
  • Have hands-on experience with Spring Core and Spring Boot, security, transactions, and JMS (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)
  • Develop memory management skills, including JVM configuration, profiling, and garbage collection
  • Have logical and analytical skills, with a thorough understanding of OOPS concepts, design principles, and implementation of different design patterns
  • Have hands-on experience with logging frameworks, such as SLF4J/LogBack/Log4j
  • Develop experience with writing JUnit test cases using Mockito/Powermock frameworks
  • Have practical experience with Maven/Gradle and knowledge of version control systems like Git/SVN
  • Have good communication skills and ability to work with global teams to define and deliver on projects
  • Have sound understanding/experience in software development process, test-driven development
  • Have experience in cloud platforms, including AWS/Azure/GCP/PCF or private cloud
  • Have experience in microservices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Strong development skills in Java JDK 1.8 or above
  • Java fundamentals like exception handling, serialization/deserialization, and immutability concepts
  • Good fundamental knowledge in enums, collections, annotations, generics, auto-boxing, and data structures
  • Database RDBMS/No SQL (SQL, joins, indexing)
  • Multithreading (re-entrant locks, fork and join, sync, executor framework)
  • Spring Core & Spring Boot, security, transactions
  • JMS (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)
  • Memory Mgmt (JVM configuration, profiling, GC)
  • Logical/Analytical skills. Thorough understanding of OOPS concepts, design principles and implementation of different type of Design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with any of the logging frameworks (SLF4J/LogBack/Log4j)
  • Experience of writing Junit test cases using Mockito / Powermock frameworks.
  • Practical experience with Maven/Gradle and knowledge of version control systems like Git/SVN etc.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams to define and deliver on projects.
  • Sound understanding/experience in software development process, test-driven development.
  • Cloud - AWS / AZURE / GCP / PCF or any private cloud would also be fine
