Responsibilities

  • Space Planning: Collaborate with clients to determine their needs and preferences for interior spaces.
  • Design Development: Create detailed design plans that include color schemes, materials, furniture, and layout.
  • Proposal Presentation: Prepare and present design proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback into revisions.
  • Furnishings and Materials Selection: Select and source furnishings, fixtures, and materials that align with the design vision.
  • Project Execution: Oversee the execution of design projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Design Trends and Technology: Stay updated with the latest design trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with contractors and suppliers to ensure proper implementation of designs, and collaborate with clients to understand their needs and goals for spaces.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of color theory, spatial arrangements, and building codes.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Sustainable Design Practices: Knowledge of sustainable design practices is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions).
  • Expertise: Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
  • Design Programs: Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs.
  • Portfolio: Excellent portfolio of previous works.
  • Talent and Imagination: Creative talent, imagination and eye for design.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Project Management Skills: Project management skills.
  • Education Requirements: BS degree in Interior Design or similar.
