Transform Urban Spaces with a Green Mobility Project Associate Role

We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Project Associate to collaborate with our team in implementing innovative road safety, green mobility, and low emission zones in Indian cities.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing, supporting, and developing strategies for cities to mitigate the adverse effects of urbanization. This involves conducting baseline assessments of vehicular and industrial emissions, identifying sustainable mobility solutions, and proposing policies for encouraging clean fuels and charging infrastructure development.

You will work closely with municipal corporations, pollution control boards, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of Low Emission Zones. Additionally, you will engage with local businesses, citizen groups, and transport operators to understand their needs and concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enabling Low Emission Zones in Mathura and Vrindavan
  • Design Analysis and Project Development: Understand site-specific urban challenges and create viable design strategies and proposals for their resolution
  • Tactical Urbanism: Collaborate with the team to implement temporary design changes (tactical urbanism trials) to test improvements and gather feedback
  • Training and Development: Conduct internal and external workshops to raise awareness and build capacity on street design and road safety principles
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular progress reports for donors, summarizing program activities and achievements
  • Community Engagement and Outreach: Assist the team in organizing Raahgiri Days and other public awareness campaigns that promote street design for improved sustainability, safety, and community interaction
Requirements:
  1. Masters degree in environmental science, Urban Planning or Design and/or allied disciplines
  2. Proven experience working on urban spatial and/or environmental issues, preferably in air pollution control, EV policy integration, and urban design
  3. Understanding of urban mobility challenges and policies
  4. Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills
  5. Ability to work independently in a remote location, and as part of a team
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills
  7. Responsiveness to stakeholder needs and requirements
  8. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS, R)
  9. Hindi and English fluency is a must
Desirable Skills:
  1. Experience working on green mobility, LEZ projects, or similar, in India or abroad
  2. Knowledge of government policies and regulations related to urban design, air quality, and transportation

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CAFE, BS-VI emission norms, NCAP, FAME
