Job Description

A mechanical design engineer will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting mechanical design drawings issued by the head office. This includes module mounting structures, trackers, layout, fabrication drawings, and assembly details.

  • Review and interpret mechanical design drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare or modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required.
  • Conduct wind load and structural stability checks for site-specific conditions.
  • Verify module mounting foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design.
  • Support fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards.
  • Provide design clarifications/modifications at site and coordinate with the head office for approvals.
  • Issue red-marked drawings/as-built drawings after execution.
  • Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
  • Support site teams in resolving mechanical erection bottlenecks.
Qualification & Experience/Skills Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of module mounting structures, trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects.
  • Understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices.
  • Ability to perform basic structural calculations for module mounting structures and support structures.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection of welding, bolting, and module installation.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills for site-level challenges.
  • B.E./B.tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred).
