Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Technical Lead to spearhead our backend development efforts. As a seasoned professional, you will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance back-end systems that support our maritime operations platform.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems. Your expertise will be crucial in driving innovation, improving efficiency, and delivering cutting-edge technology that drives real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive team effectiveness and productivity.
  • Contribute to scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architecture, ensuring high-quality solutions meet evolving maritime industry needs.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment, delivering results that exceed expectations.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, writing comprehensive unit tests to ensure reliable and maintainable code.
  • Develop reusable, modular code and libraries, promoting efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Enforce security best practices, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes related to owned products.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven 5+ years of experience in software development, leadership or management roles.
  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs (REST, XML) using frameworks like Django/Flask.
  • Considerable expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository, Git, and DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Familiarity with caching techniques and utilities like Memcache/Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or other web/app servers and containerization tools like Docker.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise-level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
