HW Engineer

Job Summary

This position is responsible for facilitating the interests and activities of process system and solution projects. The role involves various tasks, including DCS & SIS HW Engineering.

• Analyze customer inputs and understand requirements such as Design Specifications, IO lists, Instrument Index, MCC drawings, and HW loop typicals.\
• Follow the Emerson FSM process and maintain all SIS-related documentation as per safety lifecycle requirements.\
• Verify compliance to IEC61511 and other assigned scopes in the project.\
• Raise technical queries.\
• Develop System Architecture.\
• Develop System Interconnection diagrams.\
• Perform I/O to Controller assignments.\
• Define Hardware Concepts.\
• Define third-party interfaces (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.).\
• Develop/Review BOMs for DCS & SIS.\
• Design/review HW typicals.\
• Design/review HW drawings for various cabinets such as Network, Server, System, Marshalling, Power Distribution, and Interposing relay.\
• Design/review Furniture Console and Matrix panel for ESD & FGS.\
• Select third-party components such as relays, barriers, Fibre Optic Patch Panels.\
• Review third-party devices and verify/test compatibility with the system.\
• Monitor/Review Cabinet builds.\
• Develop Internal test plans.\
• Perform Internal testing.\
• Perform Third-Party Interface testing.\
• Develop HW FAT plans.\
• Develop HW-SW Integration plans.\
• Perform Integrated testing between SW & HW.\
• Perform FAT with customers.\
• Develop As-Built documentation.\
• Develop SAT plans.\
• Perform SAT at customer locations.\
• Loop checks at sites.\
• Provide Startup & Commissioning support.\

  • Implement EEEC IMS processes/documentation as required throughout the project.\
  • Adopt to WA quality requirements and Customer's regulatory guidelines.\
  • Practice and promote a First-time right approach.\
  • Strictly follow GDP (Good Documentation Practices).\

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of relevant work experience in process control and automation, with DCS/SIS HW Design experience in the Engineering Industry being desired.

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electronics & Telecommunication.\
• Have a strong understanding of DCS/SIS HW design principles and practices.\
• Be able to analyze complex technical information and provide solutions.\
• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.\
• Be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.\
• Have a good understanding of safety lifecycle requirements and documentation standards.\
• Be able to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.\
• Have a basic understanding of programming languages and software development methodologies.\
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.\
• Have a good understanding of global quality standards and regulations.\
• Be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\
• Be able to travel occasionally for business purposes.\
