About SiteRecon

SiteRecon is a B2B SaaS platform that's transforming property measurements for landscapers and snow removal contractors. Leveraging advanced AI on high-resolution aerial imagery, we've streamlined measurement times from one week to just one day, aiming for a mere hour with upcoming advancements.

You'll be our founding Platform Engineer, tasked with building our infrastructure from scratch, designing the foundation that will scale from thousands to millions of property measurements. You'll collaborate closely with our CTO and engineering leadership to define our infrastructure philosophy. Every decision you make – from our CI/CD pipeline to security architecture – will set the standard for how we build and ship software.

This role offers a greenfield opportunity to design our platform architecture from first principles, making technology choices that will shape our engineering culture. Your work directly impacts every engineer's productivity and our ability to serve customers. When you improve deployment times by 50%, everyone feels it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecting our cloud platform on GCP from the ground up, making critical decisions on everything from network topology to data encryption strategies
  • Designing and implementing our first proper CI/CD pipeline that takes us from 30-minute deployments to sub-5 minute deployments
  • Building our infrastructure-as-code foundation using Terraform, establishing patterns that will be used for years to come

SOC2 Compliance and Security

You'll lead our SOC2 compliance journey by incorporating security into every layer of our infrastructure, implement customer-managed encryption, and zero-trust networking as foundational principles. Additionally, you'll create automated security scanning and remediation systems that make compliance invisible to developers.

Additional Responsibilities

You'll build the self-service platform that lets developers provision infrastructure in minutes, not days. You'll create golden paths that make the secure, scalable choice the default choice, and design observability systems that give developers superpowers in production.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise with GCP services and cloud architecture
  • Strong experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and container orchestration
  • Proficiency in Go or Python for automation
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Track record of building platforms that scale
