Job Description :

A Content Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, managing, and executing migration requests from diverse sources to SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Teams environments. The ideal candidate will possess sufficient experience in migration projects, particularly utilizing tools like Sharegate and AvePointFly, to ensure seamless transitions and optimal user experiences.

Key Responsibilities :

- Plan, manage, and execute migration requests from diverse sources to SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Teams, including Google Drive, network drives, and Box.

Conduct thorough assessments of existing systems, content structures, and data sources to determine migration requirements and feasibility.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define migration objectives, priorities, and success criteria.

Develop migration strategies, encompassing data mapping, content transformation, metadata preservation, and security considerations.

Configure, customize, and optimize migration tools, namely Sharegate and

- AvePointFly to meet specific project requirements and performance targets.

Perform pre-migration testing and validation to ensure data integrity, fidelity, and compliance with Shell policies.

- Coordinate and facilitate migration activities, including scheduling, data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

Provide timely and effective communication to request stakeholders, including status updates, progress statement, and issue resolution.

Offer post-migration support, troubleshooting, and user guidance to ensure smooth adoption and utilization of migrated content and platforms.

Document only required migration processes, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing, training, and future reference.

Responsibilities Summary :

- Migration Planning : Develop migration strategies and plans for transferring content from relevant source platforms to SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.

Content Assessment : Analyze existing content repositories to determine the scope, structure, and metadata of data to be migrated.

Tool Selection : Identify and recommend appropriate migration tools like Sharegate and AvePointfly based on request requirements and source platform compatibility.

Data Mapping and Transformation : Map source data to target destinations, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance during the migration process.

Permission Setup : Configure access controls, permissions, and security settings for content within SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.

Quality Assurance : Conduct pre- and post-migration testing to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.

Documentation : Document migration processes, workflows, and configurations for future reference and auditing purposes.

Guidance and Support : Provide guidance and support to end-users and stakeholders on using the migrated content within SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.

Skills & Requirements :

SharePoint Skill : In-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online and on-premises environments, including site architecture, content types, lists, libraries, workflows, and permissions management.

Migration Tools Proficiency : Hands-on experience with migration tools such as Sharegate, AvePointfly, and other third-party migration solutions.

Technical Proficiency : Strong understanding of file systems, network drives, and cloud storage platforms like Google Drive, Box, and OneDrive for Business.

- Data Analysis : Ability to assess, classify, and categorize data for migration based on business requirements and regulatory compliance.

Request Fulfilment : Good request management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and track migration requests within defined timelines and budgets. Usage of ServiceNow IT Service Management tool

Problem Solving : Effective problem-solving skills to troubleshoot migration issues, data inconsistencies, and access conflicts.

Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with stakeholders, end-users, and technical teams throughout the migration process.

Certifications : Good to have relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator Associate or similar credentials demonstrate proficiency in SharePoint administration and migration.
