Job Purpose

  • Responsible for leading the infrastructure operations team and overseeing the day-to-day activities related to on premise datacentre management and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive infrastructure strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  • Analyze existing infrastructure effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies for improvement or leveraging these systems.
  • Negotiate the purchase of software, hardware and other IT supplies as approved by senior management.
  • Manage inventory of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
  • Interact with senior management and peers to gain acceptance on alternate approaches.
  • Manage outsourced teams for daily operations and activities.
  • Provide solutions to complex business problems requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Perform live disaster recovery activities and periodic drills.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of server, storage, database, operating systems (Windows and Linux) and network infrastructure.
  • Manage production incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

Preferred Profile:

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in infrastructure management for both on premise datacenter and cloud infrastructures.

Skills Required

  • Program and project management expertise.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge of infrastructure such as servers, storage, databases, operating systems (Windows and Linux) and networks.
  • Excellent knowledge and exposure to cloud computing.

Functional Competencies required

  • Ability to perform infrastructure discovery assessments and transformation strategies.
  • Holistic understanding of all data center functions including production operations, change control, disaster recovery, helpdesk, systems management and facilities.
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros and cons, and migration considerations.
