Job Title: Data Governance Manager

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a skilled professional to join our organization as a Data Governance Manager. This key role plays a vital part in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective data governance program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Data Governance Program: Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): Conduct thorough DPIAs to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with data processing activities.
  • Manage Data Protection Controls: Develop and maintain robust data protection controls to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Provide Guidance and Support: Serve as a trusted advisor across functions, providing guidance on data governance best practices and ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
Key Deliverables
  • Develop Privacy Program Components: Create and implement privacy program components to ensure compliance with evolving laws and regulations.
  • Conduct Gap Analysis and Remediation Initiatives: Identify and address potential vulnerabilities through gap analysis and remediation initiatives.
  • Monitor Global Privacy Regulations: Stay up-to-date with global privacy regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Review Vendor Contracts: Review vendor contracts for privacy compliance and oversee data inventory to maintain accurate records.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Data Governance Frameworks and Standards: In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001 and GDPR.
  • Experience with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): Proven experience with conducting DPIAs and managing data protection controls.
