Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Database Administrator to lead the management and administration of our SQL Server databases on-premises and in Azure SQL.

  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning, implementing, and overseeing Azure SQL Subscription services to ensure high availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • This role involves performing database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and monitoring to maintain optimal database health and capacity.
  • The selected individual will be responsible for configuring and maintaining disaster recovery, backups, and high availability solutions.
  • They will also implement and monitor security policies, access controls, and compliance standards to safeguard our database infrastructure.
  • In addition, this person will plan and execute database migrations from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL.
  • Collaboration with development and DevOps teams is crucial to support CI/CD and database lifecycle management.
  • Maintenance of production databases and proactive identification of potential issues will be key responsibilities of this position.

Requirements:

  • More than 10 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Subscription management.
  • Strong background in performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Detailed knowledge of T-SQL, backup/recovery, replication, indexing, and security configurations.
  • Proven experience with migration projects from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL.
