Job Role: Carpenter

About the Job: We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team at Accor Hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of carpentry tasks, including:

  • Tool Maintenance: Ensure all hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines are properly maintained and stored.
  • Interpreting Drawings: Interpret scale drawings and perform simple drawing detailing to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Timber Preparation: Shape and prepare timber, including dovetailing details, for all woodwork design and furniture repair.
  • Fitments and Repairs: Make doors, frames, skirting, architrave, and other fitments to support the maintenance of hotel facilities, and fix and repair frames in walls, doors, windows, gates, locks, and furniture.
  • Key Management: Assist the Chief Engineer in preparing and planning minor modification and improvement works in the hotel, and be responsible for the movement and replacement of all master keys and security locks systems.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of locks repairs and keys replacement jobs in a logbook.
  • Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures: Be fully conversant with hotel fire and life safety/emergency procedures and comply with hotel and departmental policies and procedures at all times.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings assigned by management, report for duty on time wearing a clean and complete uniform, and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a secondary or high school education, a trade certificate will be advantageous, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in the area of expertise. Good reading and oral proficiency in English is required, along with the ability to work effectively and contribute in a team. Self-motivation and energy are essential, and the candidate must be well-presented and professionally groomed at all times.

Work Environment: This is a full-time position with no remote work option.
