About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Billing and Revenue Recognition Specialist to join our team at SES. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a focus on billing and revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate billing and revenue plans proposed by SatBill, ensuring accurate capture and interpretation of customer details and payment terms in line with IFRS 15 and SES's revenue recognition policy.

  • Process and deliver customer invoices based on relevant billing triggers, such as monthly charges, usage-based invoicing, and milestone invoicing, consistent with contractual terms and conditions.

  • Contribute to the monthly billing closing process, ensuring accurate A/R subledger maintenance, performing billing controls, and further analysis as required.

  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of new systems impacting OTC, such as CRM, ERP, and Billing & RevRec tools.

  • Respond to customer queries in a timely manner and coordinate internal follow-up with C&C and other stakeholders as needed.

  • Interact with internal and external auditors as requested.

  • Support OTC management in monitoring OTC process controls, including timely execution of controls, reviewing completeness of documentation, and reporting to management as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics from a recognized university, with a Master's degree considered an asset.

  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, including intercompany reconciliation.

  • Several years of working experience in billing and revenue recognition, ideally in a multinational company and/or B-2-B services provider environment.

  • Solid understanding of IFRS 15 and experience applying IFRS 15 in practice.

  • Excellent IT applications skills, including SAP (ECC 6.0 & S4HANA), MS Dynamics 365, and MS Office (specifically Excel).

  • Fluency in English, with good written and verbal communication skills, and other languages considered an asset.
