Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Instrument Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, cleaning, packing, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays. You will also operate sterilization equipment, ensure proper labeling and storage of sterile supplies, and conduct quality checks to maintain sterility assurance.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing used surgical instruments and medical equipment from various hospital departments.
  • Cleaning and decontaminating instruments using detergents, enzymatic solutions, and ultrasonic cleaners.
  • Preparing, packing, and labeling surgical instruments and linen packs for sterilization.
  • Operating autoclaves, ETO machines, and other relevant equipment based on item category and sterilization method.
  • Monitoring and documenting sterilization cycles and parameters such as temperature, pressure, and time.
  • Conducting biological and chemical indicator tests to verify sterilization efficacy.
  • Assembling instrument sets and trays according to surgical or procedural requirements.
  • Inspecting and testing all instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper alignment before packing.
  • Wrapping and labeling instruments appropriately with sterilization and expiration details.
  • Maintaining accurate records of instrument inventory, sterilization logs, and supply usage.
  • Issuing sterilized equipment and packs to various departments based on daily schedules and emergency requests.
  • Participating in routine quality assurance procedures such as load checks, sterilization audits, and machine maintenance.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a diploma in a related field and at least a fresher experience in a CSSD environment. You should also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
