Software Engineer Position

Morgan Stanley is a leading financial services firm, renowned for mobilizing capital to help governments, corporations, institutions, and individuals achieve their financial objectives.

The Reliability & Production Engineering organization in Morgan Stanley's Technology division seeks a skilled Software Engineer. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing high-performance platforms, frameworks, applications, and exercises for testing critical applications at scale.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain efficient Java applications using Spring Boot.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs for various application modules.
  • Write optimized SQL queries, procedures, and triggers for high-performance applications.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, QA engineers, and DevOps to integrate features and services.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes in a timely manner.
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability, and best practices through unit testing and documentation.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Java (8+), Spring Framework, Spring Boot.
  • Experience in developing REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with JPA/Hibernate.
  • Good understanding of Maven/Gradle, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG.
