Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning Analyst to join our team at Emerson. As a key member of our business unit, you will provide critical support for initiatives that span across Sales, Finance, Business Development, Operations, and IT to drive growth in the BU.

In this Role
  • You will support and participate in the business unit Planning Process, including major management events such as quarterly World Area reviews, annual strategy review, and value creation/growth planning conferences.
  • You will develop, in coordination with staff, long-range objectives and strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability, including macroeconomic trends, competitors, and market position.
  • You will analyze adjacent markets and make informed recommendations on how Emerson should participate (or not participate).
  • You will work with regional teams to collect market intelligence and trends and build and maintain quantitative models of driven participation in markets and geographies.
  • You will analyze macroeconomic indicators to track business performance and develop long-range economic models for global business.
  • You will support the leadership team with business development analyses and growth planning.
  • You will provide monthly financial commentary and industry trends to support Investor Relations.
  • You will participate in the development of analytical tools and dashboards to support the sales organization.
Requirements
  • You should have a strong background in critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
  • You should have an in-depth understanding of complex business models.
  • You should be able to quickly and conclusively take actions in constantly evolving, unexpected situations.
  • You should relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography.
  • You should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • You should have 3-6 years of overall experience in Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Accounting with an industrial (business-to-business) company selling configured products.
  • You should have strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills.
  • You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
  • You should be able to drive change and effectively handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • You should have an MBA or Equivalent Post-Graduation program in Business Management or Data Analytics.
  • You should be an advanced certified user of Data Analytics & Reporting Tools.
  • You should be able to bring a measured, data-driven approach to a range of high-priority and high-impact projects.
  • You should have experience in consulting, strategy, or business development.
