Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering

The Western Digital Team is seeking a seasoned manager to spearhead the development and operation of business-critical tools.

This role will work closely with IT in coordinating infrastructure needs for continuous automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams in test development, validation of eHDD, Opti-NAND, and architecting white box, grey, and black box tests.
  • Primary responsibility for team-owned DVT (Device Verifications Test) development, including directed test and random workload test development and validation.
  • Software engineering disciplines in design, development, test, source-code management, and CI/CD practices.
  • Test validation of complex software, firmware systems, hardware products.
  • Active participation in technical discussions with architects and key technical leaders.
  • Ensure program objectives and deliverables are accomplished in a timely fashion to meet product ramp requirements and build contingency plans.
  • Support agile team test development processes and validation, helping to resolve roadblocks and impediments.
  • Measure and monitor the quality and progress of the team's work and adjust accordingly.
  • Hire, coach, and manage staff as needed. Provide career development and performance coaching.
  • Collaborate with peer managers to lead broader organizational initiatives.
  • Create a team culture that supports open communication, collaboration across teams and sites, and empowerment to employees.
