Job Opportunity

As a Senior Project Lead, you will be responsible for guiding the engineering team in project work, focusing on production and liaison with external stakeholders. You will mentor and coach junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements, reviewing with the designated authority.
  • Work with the external team to assemble a design specification compliant with client requirements, agreeing its format and content, and monitoring its preparation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Agree and monitor the scope of works with the designated authority.
  • Clearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the designated authority and external team for detailed design.
  • Carry out detailed design as per client requirements, including complex calculations and coordination issues, and obtain QA and technical review sign-off from the designated authority.
  • Review and monitor calculation production, including QA and technical reviews.
  • Ensure project costing information is completed in detail and to deadlines, keeping the external team informed about design progress through explanation of design decisions.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and review input from team members.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions within the agreed program.
  • Adhere to document control and QA processes, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately.
  • Manage a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in building structure design, preferably in a similar role or with a good track record.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in technical structural software, such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Fluency in English with excellent technical terminology knowledge.
  • Good management, communication, and technical skills, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and membership in an accredited engineering body.
  • British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent desirable.

Minimum 12 years of experience.
