About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist to join our team in Bangalore, India. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing data pipelines utilizing cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data pipelines using cloud technologies
  • Lead a team of data engineers and provide technical guidance and support
  • Develop data transformations using cloud-native processing and Python processing
  • Work with external partners to bring data into the cloud environment
  • Design and maintain data flow designs and schemas
  • Collaborate with data analysts, product owners, and data scientists to understand requirements and design solutions
  • Support and enhance data pipelines and ETL using heterogeneous sources
  • Work with internal technical personnel to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions
  • Ensure compliance with data stewardship standards and data security procedures
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Lead designing and developing data pipelines using Hadoop ecosystem and/or cloud technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in data virtualization toolsets such as Starburst or Dremio
  • Experience with Collibra is a plus
  • Programming skills in Python, Spark, or Java, with a strong preference for Python
  • Experience with query languages such as SQL, Hive, Impala, and Drill, with a strong preference for SQL
  • Ability to transform data using data mapping and data processing capabilities
  • Strong development and automation skills, with a strong preference for Python, Spark, or Java
  • Ability to expand and grow data platform capabilities to solve new data problems and challenges
  • Ability to dynamically adapt to conventional big-data frameworks and tools
  • Experience in agile development methodology
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Can-do attitude on problem-solving, quality, and ability to execute
  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in engineering in Computer Science or Information Technology is desired
