Azure Database Administrator

Role Summary:

The Azure Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of Azure-based databases.

This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure database solutions to meet business needs.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and address database-related issues is also a key responsibility.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this role include efficient database design, prompt troubleshooting, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust Azure database architectures to support business growth.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Azure database services, including SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and MariaDB.
  • Optimize database performance, backup and restore databases, and ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect against cyber threats.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Azure DBA or similar role.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Azure database services, including Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of database design, development, and deployment principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mastery of SSIS, SSRS, and other ETL tools.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, Azure Key Vault, and other security tools.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Certifications in Azure administration, database administration, or related fields.

Candidates should possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
