This role involves preparing state and local tax returns for various US entities, including corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.

  • Responsibilities include calculating state tax modifications for combined and separate tax returns.
  • Preparing state apportionment calculations is also a key part of this position.
  • State extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments calculations are further responsibilities.
  • The tax professional will be required to e-file state local tax returns, extensions, and estimates.
  • Preparation of state current and deferred tax provision calculations, including return-to-provision adjustments for all US subsidiaries, is essential.
  • Update state blended deferred tax rate for law changes and state apportionment as necessary.
  • The individual in this role may assist with completion of other tax provision schedules, including state tax reserves.
  • State income tax audits and responding to state tax notices are also tasks that may be undertaken.
  • Additionally, the tax professional will be responsible for preparing state income tax nexus studies.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ability to understand and apply tax laws effectively is crucial in this position.
