Job Purpose

Muthoot Fincorp Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying data patterns, trends, and using techniques in transforming data that powers data-driven decision making and improving customer experience in line with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, clean, and pre-process data from various sources.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
  • Use techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and natural language processing (NLP) as appropriate.
  • Optimise models for performance, scalability, and interpretability.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor models periodically and refine models based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Align data projects with organisational goals ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data used in building of models.
  • Work closely with business, IT, and database teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in building/monitoring analytical models/scorecards.
  • Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data modelling, interpretation, and segmentation.
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning techniques.
  • Experience in banking/NBFC/fintech will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications will be a plus.
