Job Title: Release Manager

We're seeking an experienced and skilled Release Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of our software releases.

Job Description:

  • Release Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive release plans that outline timelines, milestones, and dependencies across the release lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, Operations, and Product Management to ensure alignment and preparation for upcoming releases.
  • Risk Management: Identify, track, and mitigate potential risks or issues that could impact release timelines or quality.
  • Change Control: Ensure all changes are well-documented, communicated, and approved according to established change control processes.
  • Cloud Deployment: Coordinate deployments in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) ensuring compliance with relevant security and operational policies.
  • Continuous Integration and Delivery: Champion continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices; drive automation to improve release reliability and efficiency.
  • Release Progress Tracking: Track release progress and provide regular updates, including detailed performance metrics and status reports to stakeholders.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of issues during release phases to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Release Calendar Management: Maintain and manage the organization's release calendar, ensuring coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Code Branch Management: Oversee the merging of validated changes into main code branches, coordinating closely with development and QA teams.
  • CAB Meetings: Present planned changes in CAB meetings and secure approvals as required across different regions.
  • Go/No-Go Meetings: Organize and conduct Go/No-Go meetings with stakeholders to assess readiness before deployment.
  • Post-Release Performance Monitoring: Monitor post-release performance, coordinate hotfixes if needed, and facilitate Post-Implementation Reviews (PIR).
  • Release Documentation: Ensure all release-related documentation is complete, up-to-date, and meets compliance/audit standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Cloud Technologies: Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect)
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Monitoring and Observability Tools: Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Release Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of release processes in complex, large-scale environments
  • Process Improvement: Proven ability to drive process improvements and optimize workflows
