Actuarial Analyst Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Actuarial Analyst to join our team in the Australia and New Zealand market. This role will involve working on reinsurance pricing, actuarial studies, and experience studies.

About the Role
  • To provide technical expertise in respect of product pricing, experience studies, and other initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct experience studies for the region, including income protection and lumpsum products.
  • Assist colleagues in reporting ES results for key treaties/benefits on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and steer new platform developments.
  • Work with regional Pricing services to develop new models for ES.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve current processes.
  • Maintain code adherence to best practices and control code proliferation by periodic validation.
  • Support local/regional projects as required, assisting ANZ pricing actuaries.
  • Support treaty reviews for the ANZ market, focusing on open treaty responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics/statistics is mandatory.
  • A strong motivation towards achieving actuarial qualification from a recognized institution (2-4 exams).
  • Familiarity with programming languages like SAS/VBA/R/Python is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written English skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Able to work collaboratively with various regional teams within and outside India.
  • Strong teamwork skills to support a high-performing team.
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, handling Experience Studies Modelling and Data Analytics.
  • Capacity to exercise actuarial judgment in a commercial environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of actuarial standard methodologies.
  • Knowledge of actuarial Life & Health modelling and data analytical software (SAS and R).
  • Organization, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
