Technical Director - Backend Engineering

This is a high-level leadership role within the engineering department, responsible for overseeing the development of backend systems for web and mobile applications in the stablecoin stack. The ideal candidate will possess experience in designing and scaling complex backend systems for payments and settlements.

  • Oversee the development of backend systems for web and mobile applications
  • Design and scale complex backend systems for payments and settlements
  • Built robust infrastructure atop fragmented on/off-ramp integrations

The successful candidate will be able to define technical architecture, lead discussions, and own system robustness. They will also mentor and manage a small team of engineers across infra + app layers, ensuring security, scalability, and regulatory readiness.

Key requirements include:

  • 6+ years of backend engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js and API design
  • Prior exposure to fintech or payments (preferred)

We seek an experienced leader who can establish best practices and delivery timelines. This person must thrive in ambiguous environments and take ownership of projects.
