Data Engineering Manager Role

The purpose of the Commercial Data team is to develop leading property and market data insights to power Real Commercial products.

  • End-to-end technical delivery of complex initiatives using agile methods and frameworks working with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, serving as a subject matter expert in data engineering and related technologies.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Technical delivery of complex initiatives.
  2. Providing technical leadership and guidance to the team.
  3. Designing and architecting scalable data solutions.
  4. Mentoring and coaching engineers.
  5. Collaborating with stakeholders to define data governance policies.
  6. Driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements include:

  • 8-13 years of experience as a developer.
  • Proven people leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience with data modeling, data pipelines, data consumption, data analysis, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of delivery approaches such as TDD, CI, and infrastructure automation.

Bonus points for experience with BigQuery, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Docker, Kafka, Linux shell scripting, Git/GitHub, AWS, Airflow, and interacting with REST APIs.

A successful candidate will have strong technical skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
