Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative features to handle various aspects of the product life cycle.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement: Design, implement, test, and enhance software subsystems that manage thousands of robots and related infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and Develop: Assess technical solutions, develop proof-of-concepts, and provide recommendations on feasibility.
  • Mentor and Train: Mentor junior team members on design techniques, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Optimize Performance: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in large-scale distributed systems.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience with an outstanding track record.
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Programming Languages: Mastery of one or more languages including Golang, Python, Java, C/C++.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in traditional RDBMS (SQL Technologies) and data modeling.
  • Distributed Systems: Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Application Scaling: Experience scaling back-end applications.
  • Software Fundamentals: Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design principles.
  • Environment: Experience developing in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Open-Source Contributions: Previous contributions to open-source projects.
  • NoSQL Datastores: Experience with NoSQL datastores (Redis, Elasticsearch) and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT).
  • Container Management: Familiarity with container management platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Apache Mesos).
  • Data Aggregation: Experience handling back-end data aggregation pipelines.
  • Robotics Middleware: Familiarity with ROS or other robotics middleware.
