Backend Developer for Robust Microservices Architecture

At Geolah, a Singapore-based AI-powered platform revolutionizing the transportation and delivery industries, we are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with 4-7 years of experience in building robust backend systems.

We value expertise in micro-services architecture, database design, and a passion for developing efficient and scalable solutions. Experience with taxi booking, food delivery & on-demand service applications is a plus, as is familiarity with APIs such as Google Maps. Those with fintech, crypto, subscription domain should apply.

As a Backend Developer at Geolah, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems using the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js).
  • Architecting and managing MongoDB databases to ensure data integrity, security, and efficiency.
  • Building and integrating APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party services.
  • Implementing and maintaining secure payment gateway integrations.
  • Integrating external services such as SMS gateways and email systems, and managing a microservices architecture.
  • Optimising code and APIs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborating with front-end developers (iOS/Android) to ensure seamless integration.
  • Ensuring high-performance and responsive backend systems.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience working with the MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, Angular, Node.js).
  • Strong proficiency in micro-services architecture, database (MongoDB), and API design and integration.
  • Proven experience with payment gateway integration and working with third-party services.
  • Expertise in Google Maps APIs and optimizing code and APIs.
  • Ability to understand and collaborate on front-end development processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with native iOS/Android development (a plus).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
