Key Responsibilities:

Support Project Management in Achieving EHS Results

  • Ensure EHS Risk Assessment is conducted and appropriate measures to control risks are defined for the Project and associated projects.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain emergency plans at Project level, ensuring they are done at Project level.
  • Monitor activities of sub-contractors with respect to EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas.
  • Have full authority to stop any operational activity resulting in immediate high risk to People or the Environment.
  • Assist, coach, and assess EHS teams in the project and associated projects.
  • Involve social and medical partners and communicate with them about EHS.
  • Support EHS project staffing, deliver EHS support during project execution, and perform audit of EHS plan implementation during the execution phases of projects managed from the Project.
  • Ensure Alstom EHS standards and tools (AZDP, TOPE, and Transport Key processes) are deployed at Project level.
  • Monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements and propose actions to correct any gaps.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation of the Project.
  • Monitor historical pollution and associated risks.
  • Built the project EHS communication plan.
  • Prepare and implement an EHS training plan and program with the support from HR and a local EHS communication plan.
  • Ensure that Accidents/Incidents are first prevented, and when occurring, reported, recorded, investigated, and analysed. Establish and communicate REX reports in case of severe or potentially severe accidents.

Reporting and Compliance:

Prepare and submit monthly EHS reports. Feed EHS Teranga reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements. Be accountable for data quality of the Project and associated projects.
