Empowering Students with Vision Impairments: A Rewarding Role

Kara Medical Foundation is launching an innovative project to bridge the digital literacy gap for college students with vision impairments through assistive technology training.

This role is ideal for someone who can structure and coordinate in fast-paced, dynamic projects, adept at setting up systems and processes in new initiatives, and passionate about inclusion and accessibility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of the Vision AT Project.
  • Support and conduct assistive technology training sessions for students with vision impairments.
  • Liaise with universities, students, NGOs, and project partners.
  • Assist with office administration and email management under guidance.
  • Assist in project setup, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Adapt and problem-solve in a fast-moving, evolving project environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with persons with disabilities (PwDs) – especially vision impairments.
  • Strong understanding of or hands-on experience with assistive technology and digital accessibility.
  • Experience in skills training, facilitation, or community programs.
  • Highly organized, flexible, and able to work in a start-up style environment.
