About the Role:

As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable backend components that drive the backbone of our consumer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Flow Architectures: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect data flows across various systems, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
  • Security and Authentication: Implement secure authentication/authorisation mechanisms to protect sensitive user information.
  • Search and Ranking: Support search/vector search/ranking and external API integrations using OpenAI and other technologies.
  • Monitoring and Observability: Set up monitoring tools like OpenTelemetry to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Data Regulations: Ensure compliance with data regulations such as GDPR.
  • Containerisation and Scalability: Leverage containerisation techniques to achieve scalability and compute flexibility.
  • Adapters and Schema Management: Develop adapters and manage schema diffs for evolving systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration across teams and promote cross-functional understanding.
  • Algorithm Development: Contribute to the development of the RightScore algorithm.
  • Logic Layers and Pipelines: Build and optimise logic layers and ranking systems.

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of Experience: In backend engineering and system architecture, with expertise in data flows, infrastructure, and integration patterns.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in REST APIs, PostgreSQL, caching, object storage, streaming systems, containerisation, serverless environments, CDNs, and WAFs.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
