About Data Engineering Roles

Data Engineers design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems. They are responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and delivered on time to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing data pipelines using Big Data technologies like Spark, PySpark, and Hive
  • Implementing performance tuning techniques for Spark jobs to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions
  • Performing data validation, transformation, and aggregation to prepare datasets for analytics
  • Participating in code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows in production environments

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Big Data technologies like Spark, PySpark, and Hive
  • Expertise in Spark job optimization and performance tuning
  • Proficient in Python and Java for building scalable data applications
  • Solid understanding of distributed computing and data processing frameworks
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
