Job Responsibilities

The Project Document Controller at GE Vernova is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of project documentation. This includes defining and implementing a document control process that adheres to Grid Solutions rules and policies, while being customized for the project as per contractual requirements. The candidate will oversee the review, publication, storage, and use of technical documentation, supported by the Document Management System (DMS).

The candidate will maintain the Project Master Document List, which serves as the governing instrument for the process. They will act as the single point of contact with the customer for contractual technical document transmittal. Collaboration with engineering teams, project managers, project engineering managers, customer representatives, external partners, subcontractors, and suppliers is critical to success.

The key tasks of the Project Document Controller include ensuring daily documentation workflows between involved parties as needed, utilizing dedicated Document Management Systems such as Windchill Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) System and Customer Portal like Aconex, EcoDoc, Share Point, etc. Compiling information to produce Operations, Maintenance (O&M) Manuals is also an essential responsibility. Furthermore, supporting the engineering team for specific tasks such as Master Document List (MDL) updates, progress reports, and dedicated checks of issues is required. The candidate should possess knowledge of how the work of the document control team integrates with other project teams and contributes to the project. Working according to overall and project-related document quality checklists compliant to company and project quality procedures is essential. Accurate quality records are vital.

Requirements
  • A graduate degree in any field except Arts and Commerce with 3-4 years' experience in the EPC sector.
  • Proficiency in documentation handling and related software systems.
  • Experience in documentation management on large projects, volume of thousands of documents.
  • Studies in a technical field and knowledge of engineering technical terms and understanding of engineering processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, Word, Excel, CAD/AUTOCAD, Adobe Acrobat Professional or similar, and MACRO creation modification awareness of Visual Basic.
  • Attention to detail, time management skills, and good communication skills. Fluency in English and fluency in other languages such as French or German will add value in the role.
