Job Description

As a Senior Software Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and enhancing scalable backend API solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft technical specifications that meet user requirements, ensuring outstanding user experiences.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with product and design teams to translate user needs into technical specifications.
  • Collaborating with various teammates to build features, brainstorm design concepts, and develop interactive prototypes.
  • Contributing to the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure backend API solutions.
  • Adopting best practices, coding standards, and engineering principles across the team to ensure high-quality codebases.
  • Implementing shift-left testing practices with the development team to ensure early and frequent testing.
  • Conducting performance analysis, optimization, and tuning of backend APIs to enhance efficiency and meet performance targets.
  • SUPPORTING TEAM ITERATIONS, SCOPE, CAPACITY, RISKS, ISSUES, AND TIMELINES.
  • Participating in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural reviews to maintain code quality and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers to foster their professional growth and assist them in overcoming technical challenges.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in designing, coding, and testing backend APIs and related technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used by our squad, such as C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core for RESTful Web APIs, JSON, XML, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases like SQL Server and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools.
  • Understanding of API and web security best practices and principles.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Expertise in developing and integrating APIs to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Docker and CI/CD.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, based on your experience and qualifications.
