Job Description

The Senior Backend Developer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our payment infrastructure. This includes creating RESTful APIs and backend services using Java.

Our team uses Spring Boot, Java 8 and above, and various databases including SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, Redis). We are looking for someone with strong programming knowledge, who can write well-designed, testable, efficient, and secure code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) to design efficient schemas and manage data flow.
  • Implement security best practices to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve backend architecture.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We require the following skills and qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of Java experience.
  • Strong programming knowledge in Java 8 and above.
  • Experience in software application development using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Strong experience with SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, Redis).
  • Experience in using distributed caching solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Ability to write well-designed, testable, efficient, and secure code.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture along with standard queueing mechanisms, caching mechanisms.
  • Understanding of system design and database schema design.
  • Team player and ability to work with different multicultural teams.
