AS/400 Technical Specialist

We seek a highly skilled technical specialist to manage the operation and maintenance of AS/400 systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with IBM AS/400, including COBOL, RPG III, RPGILE, SQLILE, and CLLE programming languages. They will be responsible for providing technical support, resolving complex issues, and ensuring system stability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for AS/400 applications and infrastructure
  • Perform code walkthroughs, identify errors, and implement fixes
  • Familiarize yourself with system architecture diagrams, interface mechanisms, and communication protocols
  • Document environment details, OS levels, and database versions
  • Stay up-to-date with compliance and regulatory requirements for AS/400 systems
  • Collaborate with L2/L3 support teams and infrastructure teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in AS/400 support and maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of COBOL, RPG III, RPGILE, SQLILE, and CLLE programming languages
  • Experience with DB2 databases, CL commands, and communication protocols specific to AS400
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
