We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Compliance Administrator to join our team. As a Compliance Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Compliance Function.
Job Purpose:The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective coordination, maintenance, and documentation of compliance activities across the institution.
Key Responsibilities:- Compliance Support & Coordination:
- Assist the Head of Compliance in managing compliance obligations.
- Maintain compliance trackers and logs.
- Monitor deadlines and submit statutory returns or compliance actions on time.
- Documentation & Records Management:
- Maintain accurate records of data processing activities, data breaches and near misses, subject rights requests, policy reviews and updates, and supporting the drafting, formatting, and publishing of internal policies and procedures.
- Data Protection Administration:
- Support handling Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and ensure all records of consent, privacy notices, and data processing agreements are properly archived and accessible.
- Reporting & Audit Preparation:
- Collate documentation and evidence for internal and external audits or inspections.
- Generate compliance status reports and dashboards for internal use.
- Staff Training & Awareness:
- Monitor and report on completion rates of mandatory compliance training.
- Provide administrative support for scheduling and tracking training, webinars, and briefings.
- Cross-Departmental Liaison:
- Coordinate with departments to gather compliance inputs.
- Work with the IT team to track cybersecurity compliance measures.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an administrative or compliance support role.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and record-keeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with data protection principles under UK GDPR.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of cybersecurity risks and controls.
- Previous experience in a higher education institution or public sector will be valued.
- Awareness of Office for Students (OfS) regulatory framework.
