Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

 

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and manage security tools and infrastructure to protect against cyber threats.
  • Monitor systems and networks for potential security breaches and investigate violations.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis.
  • Respond to security incidents and lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices and secure software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Manage firewalls, antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), security information and event management (SIEM), data loss prevention (DLP), and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
  • Maintain documentation related to security architecture, incidents, and processes.
  • Conduct security awareness training for staff and developers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), proxies, and endpoint protection.
  • Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) platforms, vulnerability scanners, and forensic tools.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong understanding of network and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP, or GSEC.
  • Experience with cloud security in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and container security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
