Backend Developer and Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer who can contribute their technical expertise in Node.js, Express.js, Databases, APIs, or MERN stack to support academic and project-based learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and refining backend curriculum and learning materials to reflect real-world practices.

This role blends hands-on backend development with the responsibility of acting as an Instructor to guide students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement backend systems and applications using Node.js, Express.js, and databases.
  • Design and deliver high-quality educational content, including lectures, lab exercises, and projects.
  • Mentor students on backend best practices, coding standards, and industry career paths.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and Newton School teams to align curriculum with industry needs.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and bring industry insights into the classroom.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 4-10 years of professional experience as a Software Developer/Engineer with a focus on Backend Development (preferably MERN stack).
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, Databases (SQL/NoSQL), and API design.
  • Solid understanding of backend fundamentals such as RESTful APIs, authentication, server-side logic, and performance optimization.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Passion for knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and guiding students.
