Principle Internal Auditor

At Gen, we're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principle Internal Auditor to join our team. As a key member of our internal audit function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and lead Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) walkthroughs and testing activities, including preparing support requests, updating auditing tools, and completing tests on the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
  • Perform a first review of Staff Auditor work and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Participate in risk assessments, scoping, and planning activities for internal audit projects and assurance activities, including SOX, operational audits, and fraud risk assessments.
  • Execute audit fieldwork autonomously and ensure audit conclusions are well documented and supported.
  • Coordinate audit efforts with business process owners, external auditors, and global audit teams.
  • Build collaborative and trusting relationships with auditees, management, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Perform data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of focus for audits and investigations.
  • Stay current on auditing trends and techniques by attending conferences, networking with peers, and other educational opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, accounting, information systems/computer science, or related fields.
  • 3 to 9 years' experience in internal audit, US GAAP accounting, finance, or risk assurance, with SOX 404 experience required.
  • Public Accounting or Professional Service firm background strongly preferred.
  • One or more relevant professional certifications required (CIA, CPA, CA, CFE, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of fundamental business processes, risks, ICFR, and US GAAP accounting requirements.
  • Familiarity with ICFR, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements, and COSO framework.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Lucid Charts, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Able to work cross-functionally and across regions/geographies to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to manage multiple projects with prioritization.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong propensity for high-quality work product.
