System Operations Specialist

The PolicyCenter Production Support Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production systems, guaranteeing system reliability, availability, and performance. This involves managing the release process, collaborating with solutions architects, and ensuring seamless integration and deployment of new features and updates.

This includes:

  • Monitoring production systems to identify issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Collaborating with IT teams and stakeholders to resolve production incidents promptly.
  • Maintaining documentation of production issues, solutions, and best practices.
  • Conducting root cause analysis of recurring issues and implementing permanent fixes.
  • Developing and maintaining release schedules for all production systems.
  • Coordinating with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure successful deployments.
  • Ensuring all releases are thoroughly tested and compliant with company policies and standards.
  • Managing and documenting the release process, including change management and version control.
  • Working closely with solutions architects to understand system design, architecture, and integration points.
  • Providing input on production environment requirements and constraints during the design and planning phases.
  • Assisting in the implementation of architectural changes and optimizations to improve system performance and scalability.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation in production support and release management.
  • Implementing best practices and industry standards to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Proven 6+ year's experience in production support, release management, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Experience with release management tools and practices.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Technical proficiency in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Besides technical expertise, this role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

As a System Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of production systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
