Enterprise Data Governance Specialist

Job Description:

  • Responsible for building and supporting tools and technology to enable an enterprise data governance program.
  • Act as a primary contributor for the tool implementation of data governance programs.
  • Build and support solutions for data governance in popular tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation etc. to enable data cataloging, metadata management and data lineage of the enterprise's applications and data sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop standard business glossaries and data dictionaries for enterprise level integration of metadata stores.
  • Support in implementing a solution for data cataloging with a data governance tool to establish clear data ownership along with access control management.
  • Build custom integrations between the data governance tool and various data stores to map and view data lineage.
  • Support the enterprise in migrating from existing (and different) data sources like SharePoint, Excel etc. to a data governance tool.
  • Implement the means to track, investigate and correct data quality issues in a data governance tool.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation etc. to implement data governance programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills with change management concepts and strategies.
