Public Relations Communications Specialist Job Description

Key Role: We are seeking a skilled Public Relations Communications Specialist to assume a leadership role in developing media relations, crafting press releases, and managing an organization's reputation.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR and communication strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage print, digital, social, and website media to enhance brand presence and reputation.
  • Create engaging content using design tools such as Canva and Photoshop to support marketing initiatives.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Manage and grow the company's presence on various social media platforms, fostering engagement and brand awareness.
  • Coordinate with print media for coverage and advertisements, maximizing exposure and impact.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on PR activities, providing insights for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels, supporting brand cohesion.
  • Effectively handle crisis communication, mitigating potential risks and maintaining a positive image.


Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations and communication, demonstrating expertise and results.
  • A postgraduate degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, showcasing advanced knowledge and skills.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva and Photoshop, enabling creative content development.
  • Strong understanding of print, digital, social, and website media, allowing effective media management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Experience in handling press releases, on print & digital media, highlighting technical expertise.
