Category Management Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving global consolidation, strategic sourcing, management, and optimization of various portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies based on market analysis, business needs, and total cost of ownership.
  • Drive strategic consolidation while incorporating regional requirements and considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand current and future software needs.
  • Identify and analyze key market trends, supplier landscape, and technological advancements within the industry.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts, licenses, and renewals to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and service levels.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and KPIs, proactively addressing any issues.
  • Effectively communicate category strategies, sourcing decisions, and performance updates to key stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Ability to construct complex global IT contract negotiations.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, with a significant focus on HW, SW, DC, Telecom, Outsourcing, services portfolio.
  • Deep understanding of various pricing, licensing models, and contract terms of leading OEMs.
  • Proven track record of managing significant contracted spending and delivering substantial cost savings and avoidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Procurement Manager (CPM/CPSM) or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
