Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Cloud GCP Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior GCP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement fault-tolerant, high-availability, scalable, and secure Google Cloud Infrastructure and Platform solutions.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build and test systems.
  • Deploy applications using multiple deployment strategies.
  • Automate Google Cloud Infrastructure and Platform deployment using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Automate system configurations using Configuration Management Tools.
  • Implement microservices concepts and best practices.
  • Enable application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities.
  • Address issues promptly and respond positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct proof-of-concepts to ensure suggested design/technologies meet requirements.
  • Learn services used in the environment quickly.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of overall experience with a minimum of 3 years of production experience on any public cloud.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Mentored system engineers and junior system engineers.
  • Good understanding of security and networks.
  • Experience with GCP Services - Compute, Storage, Data tools, Cloud Build.
  • Experience with GCP Networking fundamentals - VPC, VPN, Peering, Interconnect.
  • Experience with GCP Security fundamentals - IAM, Service Accounts, Workload Identity.
  • Experience with Container Orchestration.
  • Experience with Container Registry - GCR.
  • Experience with setting up Load Balancer, Auto Scaling, databases, firewall rules, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Backup and Recovery methodology and implementations on GCP.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code Tooling like Terraform.
  • Experience with at least one Configuration management tool like Ansible, Packer, Salt, Chef, Puppet, etc.
  • Experience with Containerization like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Windows or Linux/Unix administration and Unix shell scripting (bash).
  • Experience with at least one Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Pipelines and tooling like GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, Circle CI, etc.
  • Cloud Migration / Modernization.
  • Experience with migrating/modernizing various workloads into GCP.
  • Understanding of automated infrastructure discovery using GCP native tools.
  • Experience with leveraging GCP migration toolset like Migration Center, Database Migration Service, Cloud Foundation Toolkit, etc.
  • Knowledge of modernizing applications hosted on VM/servers to container-based deployment architecture.
  • Optimize Total Cost of Ownership by leveraging the right services in the GCP landscape.
