Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, including experience with data lakes, ETL processes, and data warehousing.

This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining the information data lake using insight platforms to enable decision support systems for the organization. The successful candidate will be able to partner with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting requirements, bringing together disparate data sets to answer business questions and drive growth.

The Data Engineer will design ETLs to ingest data into the data warehouse and data lake, as well as end-user facing reporting applications. They will collaborate with development teams to define requirements and deliver flexible, scalable solutions.

The role requires expertise in designing, creating, managing and utilizing large datasets to inform business decisions. The successful candidate will be able to utilize expertise in data modelling, SQL, ETL, data warehousing and data lakes to drive business outcomes.

In addition, the Data Engineer will write efficient SQL and Python scripts to solve complex problems. They will build and maintain dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience transforming data using Azure data factory.
  • Experience working with Spark and Azure Databricks.
  • Able to balance and prioritize multiple conflicting requirements with high attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PySpark or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of Azure Databricks and MPP databases.
  • Experience with data lake development.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB.
  • Experience working on Microsoft Power BI dashboards.
  • Agile process experience.
  • Version control system experience using Git.
