Medical Coding Specialist Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Code medical diagnoses and procedures accurately and consistently in compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and analyze patient records to identify coding opportunities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete coding.
  • Stay up-to-date on changing coding regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • CPC, CPC-P, CPC-H, CPC-I, CRC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA certification through AAPC and/or AHIMA.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in medical coding with specific knowledge of Medicare and Commercial Risk Adjustment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional experience in facility (OPPS/IPPS) coding.
  • Experience in Health Plan Risk Adjustment Data Validation Audit (RADV).
