Medtronic is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead data services and platforms projects within our IT organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for empowering Medtronic to utilize data as an asset to drive business decisions.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead and direct project teams engaged in global initiatives across functional, regional, and business units.
  • Engage stakeholders and leaders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure clear understanding of timelines, challenges, and value.
  • Utilize an entrepreneurship mindset to take ideas from initiation to closure, managing all aspects to successfully accomplish goals.
  • Accountable for the successful implementation of project outcomes through effective organization and leadership, business case and benefits management, stakeholder management, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure alignment of projects to corporate and IT policies and standards, protecting the integrity of Medtronic and its patients.
  • Responsible for managing project constraints: scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance and recommendations to leadership governance bodies.
  • Stay current on advances and best practices in project management methodologies.
  • Prepare and deliver regular status reports, executive summaries, and presentations, maintaining project documentation, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Monitor stakeholder satisfaction, solicit feedback, and implement improvements to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, considering resource allocation, dependencies, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Engage and collaborate with external vendors, contractors, or consultants for project-related activities, conducting vendor evaluations, ensuring contract compliance, and managing relationships.

Basic Qualifications

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years of experience
  • -Or- Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Prior experience managing data services and data platform-related projects within an IT organization.
  • Prior experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools and techniques.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills; written, oral, and presentations.
  • Experience working in a global environment, including integrated employee and vendor teams.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Previous Medtronic experience
  • Work experience in the Medical Device Industry or other regulated industry
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional certification
  • Scrum Master experience
  • Demonstrated experience understanding and executing the full lifecycle management of a data product.
  • Prior experience with data governance, data modeling, data integration, data quality, and data security practices.
  • Experience working in hybrid environments; Cloud and On-Prem.
  • High degree of 'learning agility' with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills.
