Gastroenterology Specialist

About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, teaching and mentoring medical students, and conducting research in areas related to gastroenterology.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care:
    • Provide expert diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders.
    • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.
  • Teaching and Mentoring:
    • Deliver lectures and tutorials on anatomy and physiology of the gastrointestinal system.
    • Mentor and supervise students in research projects, case presentations, and practical sessions.
  • Research and Development:
    • Conduct and support research in areas like hepatology, IBD, GI oncology, gut microbiome, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
    • Develop and implement new diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Essential:
    • MBBS with MD in Internal Medicine and DM/DNB in Gastroenterology.
    • Registered with medical council (as per national/state regulations).
  • Desirable:
    • Teaching experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level.
    • Experience in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy.
    • Peer-reviewed publications in gastroenterology journals.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Deep knowledge of gastrointestinal physiology, pathology, and clinical management.
  • Proficiency in endoscopic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Strong teaching, mentoring, and academic writing abilities.
  • Research acumen and knowledge of evidence-based medicine.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with simulation-based teaching and digital tools.
