Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and validate complex mathematical models of mineral weathering, geochemical fluxes, and carbon sequestration processes.
  • Conduct thorough uncertainty quantification and error propagation analysis across sampling and modeling workflows.
  • Develop Monte Carlo simulations and other stochastic models for accurate carbon accounting.
  • Analyze large datasets from lab, field, and satellite sources to extract meaningful patterns and trends.
  • Support the creation of sampling strategies, including spatial and temporal optimization techniques.
  • Collaborate with product and software teams to integrate scientific logic into automated Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of technical memos, whitepapers, and publications for third-party validation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Environmental Engineering, or Computational Sciences.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and inference, error analysis, confidence intervals, and sensitivity testing, simulation methods (e.g., Monte Carlo, bootstrapping).
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R for modeling and data analysis.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex scientific papers and replicate models/equations.
